Siemens to build 300 MW windpower plant in South Korea
SEOUL - German technology giant Siemens will build a $400 million 300-megawatt wind power station on the South Korean island of Imja, an official said last week.
Siemens signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sinan Office on January 31 to construct the wind power station on the southern island in Cholla Province by December 2006.
The two sides plan to sign a final contract on April 31, Nam Sang-yool, an official of Sinan Office, told Reuters.
State-run power monopoly Korea Electric Power Corp (KEPCO) will buy electricity the station will produce, Nam said.
