that it is posted online (see below). The Government of Latvia has received a
loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and a
grant from the Global Environment Facility Trust Fund various currencies toward
the cost of the Municipal Solid Waste Management Project. It is intended that
part of the grant proceeds will be applied to eligible payments under the
contract for two weighbridges with registration and software systems to be
supplied and installed at the Getlini landfill site, Stopinu Pagasts, Riga
Latvia. The Project Procurement Unit of Riga City acting on behalf of the
Purchaser Getlini Eco Limited now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for
the supply of two weighbridges with registration and software systems to be
supplied and installed at the Getlini Eko landfill site. The supply shall
include delivery, installation, training of staff, indoor PC terminals, printer,
loudspeaker system, three barriers and all necessary connecting cables.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the
bidding documents at the office of the Project Procurement Unit (PPU) at the
address below. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by an
interested eligible bidder on submission of a written application to the address
below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US$ 100 or its equivalent in a
convertible currency made to account No. 02009075371, sub-account No.
30101630001 at the Unibank of Latvia Centra Branch, Swift UNLALV2X quoting Ref
Pack 6a. The instructions to bidders and general conditions of contract
contained in the bidding documents comply with the World Banks Standard Bidding
Documents: Procurement of Goods. Bids must be accompanied by a security of US$
4,000, and be delivered to the PPU on or before 1300 hours (local time) on 3
July 2002. They will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of
bidders who choose to attend, at the Conference Hall of the PPU, located on the
1st Floor - Room 9. In accordance with 1.8 c of the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, no dependant agency of the
borrower or sub-borrower under a World Bank financed project shall be permitted
to bid or submit a proposal for the procurement of goods or works under the
