This general procurement notice updates that published in UN Development
Business No. 499 of 30 November 1998. The Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and
Development (Hrvatska banka za obnovu i razvitak – HBOR) has received a loan in
the total amount of EUR 33,233 million equivalent from the International Bank
for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Municipal
Environmental Infrastructure Project (MEIP) – EKO-Kaštela Bay Project, which
part of it is the Kaštela-Trogir Sewerage System, Phase 1, and it intends to
apply the loan proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and
consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be
jointly financed by Croatian state budget and funds as well as local taxes.
Bidding for contracts financed by the World Bank will be governed by its
eligibility rules and procedures. The project will include the following
components: Common structures subsystem: --“Divulje” Treatment Plant, Phase 1
(hydraulic load, Phase 1 up to 10,000 ES; and Final Phase approximately 150,000
ES) and PS “Divulje-Plant” (civil part), Phase 1, with appurtenant
infrastructure (inside and outside the boundaries of the proposed facility)
necessary for the proper functioning; --Submarine Crossing, Phase 1:
approximately 1.9 km long from PS “Divulje-Plant” to the entrance of the “Ciovo”
Hydrotechnical Tunnel --“Ciovo” Hydrotechnical Tunnel approximately 2.8 km long
with assumed cross section of 13.6 m2, complete with appurtenant infrastructure
(inside and outside the boundaries of the site) necessary for its proper
functioning and the access road 5 m wide and approximately 2.3 km long providing
approach to the southern portal --Submarine outfall with a diffuser, Phase 1,
with assumed length of approximately 2.3 km, complete with necessary
infrastructure Kaštela subsystem comprised of approximately 27 km gravity
pipeline and ten pumping stations with approximately 4.5 km pressure pipeline,
complete with all necessary municipal infrastructure (inside and outside the
boundaries of the site) Trogir subsystem comprised of approximately 15.5 km
gravity pipeline and five pumping stations with approximately 4 km pressure
pipeline, complete with all necessary municipal infrastructure (inside and
outside the boundaries of the site) Ciovo subsystem comprised of approximately 4
km gravity pipeline and three pumping stations with approximately 1.3 km
pressure pipeline, complete with all necessary municipal infrastructure (inside
and outside the boundaries of the site). Procurement of contracts financed by
the loan will be conducted through the procedures specified in the World Bank’s
Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised
January and August 1996, September 1997, and January 1999), and open to all
bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. The
procedure of selecting the consultant for preparation of the preliminary and
final design, tender documents as well as that for supervision during
construction are presently in the finalizing stage. The selecting procedure is
in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of
Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, January 1997 (revised September 1997 and
January 1999). Specific procurement notices for contract to be bid under the
World Bank’s international competitive bidding procedures will be announced, as
they become available in UN Development Business. Prequalification of suppliers
and contractor will be required for the following contracts: Common structures
subsystem: “Divulje” treatment plant (Phase 1) and PS “Divulje-Plant” (Phase 1)
Common structures subsystem: Submarine crossing (Phase 1) and submarine outfall
