This invitation for bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 482 of 16 March 1998. The Palestinian Liberation Organization, for the benefit of the Palestinian Authority, has received a Trust Fund from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the West Bank Management Project; Southern Area Water and Sanitation Improvement Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Trust Fund to payments under the contract No ICB 2002/G/14 for the supply of customer water meters and fittings. Bidding will be governed by the World Bank’s eligibility rules and procedures. GEKA (Vivendi – Khatib & Alami) acting on behalf of the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of: 7000, Class [C] water meters for customer potable water supply in addition to fittings for house connections. All materials are to be supplied at GEKA/PWA stores in Teqo’a in the Bethlehem Governorate, West Bank. The delivery period is 14 weeks. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996, September 1997 and January 1999), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information, and inspect the bidding documents from the office of GEKA at the address below between 0800 and 1200 hours, local time (Monday through Saturday). A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders upon submission of a written application to the address below as from 21 August 2002 and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US$ 100 (plus US$ 50 if shipment of the documents by Express Mail is requested by the bidder).
