This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 561 of 30 June 2001.
The Government of Uzbekistan has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development toward the cost of the Water Supply, Sanitation and Health Project, and it is intended that the loan proceeds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the purchase of the Radio Net equipment for the water supply agencies in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm oblast under contract No. 10-G, package 5. The Ministry of Macroeconomics and Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of radio net equipment for package 5 (other packages will be advertised separately). The delivery period is 168 days.
Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996, September 1997, and January 1999), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the Ministry of Macroeconomics and Statistics at the address below from 0900 to 1800 hours (local time). A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee equivalent to US$ 75 in Sums or US$ 75. The method of payment will be transfer of the equivalent of US dollars in Sums to the project’s special account No. 20204000400101021003 at Tashkent City Branch of Specialized State Joint Stock Commercial Bank “Asaka” or US dollars transfer to the project’s special account No. 202048840600101021003 at Tashkent City Branch of Specialized State Joint-Stock Commercial Bank “Asaka” (code 00416). The document will be sent by mail or provided to bidder’s delegate or representative at the Ministry of Macroeconomics and Statistics after the Bank’s confirmation of payment.
Bids must be delivered to the address below by 1130 hours on 30 January 2003. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount equivalent to US$ 12,000 in Sums or US$ 12,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 1130 hours on 30 January 2003. Late bids will be rejected.
