Expressions of interest Deadline: 17 April 2003 This request for expressions of
interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared
in UN Development Business No. 590 of 16 September 2002. Bosnia and Herzegovina
has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA), and
it intends to apply part of the credit proceeds to payments for consulting
services to be procured under the contract for creation of environmental and
social capacities-creation of the Environmental Unit in the Republic of Srpska
Road Directorate (herein after called the RSRD). The consulting services include
activities on environmental management, assessment and enforcement, including
training to local staff. The consultant will provide training on environmental
assessment procedures; environmental aspects of road, highway, bridge and tunnel
projects; how environmental concerns are reflected in technical specifications
related to road construction, rehabilitation, reconstruction and maintenance
activities and enforcement practices. The consultant will also provide study
tours to learn about environmental management organization, policies, procedures
and practices for road and highway projects in model countries. The Republic of
Srpska Road Directorate-Project Implementation Team (hereinafter called
RSRD-PIT) in the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of
Srpska now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in
providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information
indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures,
experience in design, development and implementation of the Environmental Unit
Building Program, description of similar assignments in last five years,
experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc, but
not more than 15 pages, excluding CV). The individual consultant will be
selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Banks
Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers,
January 1997 (revised September 1997, January 1999, and May 2002). Interested
consultants may obtain further information from background documents at the
address below from 0800 to 1500 hours, Monday through Friday. Expressions of
interest must be delivered to the address stated below by 17 April 2003.
