This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business, issue no. 656 of June 16, 2005.

Ukraine has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development toward the cost of the Lviv Water and Wastewater Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Supply of Inlet Pumps and Associated Equipment for Wastewater Treatment Plant (Contract No. LP-WW-02C).

The Lviv City Communal Enterprise “Lvivvodokanal” now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for supply of submersible inlet pumps and the associated equipment such as pipes, electrically and manual valves, cables, MV Switchgear, LV Switchgear, programmable logic control equipment, frequency converters, level meters, installation supervision and training. The goods shall be supplied to Lviv Wastewater Treatment Plant including supervision of installation.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised in January and August 1996, September 1997 and January 1999), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from LCCE “Lvivvodokanal" and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below.

Eligible bidders are manufacturers, contracting companies and their representatives. No bidders will be accepted unless they present documentary evidence for:

--2 successfully completed contracts of similar nature (scope of supply) during the past 5 years each of more than US$ 1 million.

All bids not submitted by a manufacturer shall be accompanied with the manufacturer’s authorization of the bidder to use his product. This authorization shall be submitted for the main components only.

If an Agent submits bids on behalf of more than one Manufacturer, unless each such bid is accompanied by a separate Bid Form for each bid, and a bid security, when required, for each bid, and authorization from the respective Manufacturer, all such bids will be rejected as non-responsive.

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of UAH 1600 or US$ 300. The method of payment will be by bank transfer to the account of LCCE “Lvivvodokanal”. The bidder shall state the purpose of payment as “Purchase of bidding documents for the Contract No. LP-WW-02C”. The documents not collected from LCCE “Lvivvodokanal” PIU office will be sent by courier to the bidder to an address stated in a written application submitted by the bidder with attached copy of payment order. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 1200 hours, local time, on September 9, 2005. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than 2 per cent of the bid price in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 1210 hours local time on September 9, 2005.
