The project will include the following components: Guangzhou Wastewater Management: Construction of two wastewater treatment plants of 200,000 ton/day capacity each, and about 500 kilometers of trunk sewers varying from 300 mm diameter to 2,600 mm diameter Guangzhou Regional Hazardous Waste Management. Construction of processing center and landfill to treat about 50,000 tons per year capacity Inter-Municipal Infrastructure Development: Construction and joint management of environmental infrastructure Environmental Monitoring and Information Sharing: Enhancing capacity monitoring, data management, decision support system, and information sharing Institutional strengthening, capacity building, design and construction supervision services, and strategic studies Procurement under the proposed loan will be carried out in accordance with the procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996, September 1997, and January 1999), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be procured in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, January 1997 (revised January 1999 and May 2002). Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) and for large value consultant contracts will be announced, as they become available, in the UN Development Business and dgMarket on-line in addition to a newspaper of national circulation.
