Vattenfall lands recycling waste deal with Energos
STOCKHOLM - Swedens largest power firm, state-owned Vattenfall , said yesterday it had struck a deal with Norwegian energy firm Energos ASA to build a district heating plant, recycling waste in Northern Sweden.
The plant to be built in Haparanda, will have the capacity to recycle 50,000 tonnes of waste from Sweden and north Finland per year and satisfy the municipalities of Haparanda and Torneo with half of their heating needs, it said in a statement.
It said the waste-fuelled heat would replace energy sources such as oil and peat.
