This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 606 of 16 May 2003.

The Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA), toward the cost of the Solid Waste Management Project and intends to apply part of the credit proceeds to payments under the contract for bid No. BA-SWM-ICB-016-G-03-3672-BOS/SA.

The Project Management Unit and Project Implementation Team Sarajevo now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for supply of :


Lot 1: Water transport vehicle (1 PC)

Lot 2: Solid waste collection vehicle (2 PCs)

Lot 3: Compactor (1 PC)

Bidders may bid for one, two or all three lots under this invitation. The bids for each lot will be evaluated separately and separate contracts will be awarded. Bids for each lot should be complete.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, current edition, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the Project Implementation Team (PIT) at the address below from 0900 to 1600 hours (local time). A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders upon submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of € 100. The method of payment will be:


Interested bidders from Bosnia and Herzegovina shall deposit aforementioned fee in the convertible marks or in Euro in favor of the Central Profit Bank Sarajevo; swift: CEBABA 22; account No. 129-104-1-0014866-39 for beneficiary: Cantonal Public Utility RAD

Interested foreign bidders shall deposit aforementioned fee in Euro in favor of the Central Profit Bank Sarajevo; swift: CEBABA 22; account No. 129-104-1-0014866-39 for beneficiary: Cantonal Public Utility RAD; intermediary bank: Commerz Bank Ag Frankfurt (swift: COBADEFF); account No. 400876832700 for beneficiary: Central Profit Bank Sarajevo

The document will be sent by mail or DHL or can be directly collected at the address below, against the receipt for payment on purchaser’s account.

All bids must be accompanied by a minimum bid security of 2 per cent of the total bid price or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency, and be delivered to the address below by 1100 hours (Sarajevo time) on 17 February 2004. They will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of bidders who choose to attend, at the same address. Late bids will be rejected.
