Evropská banka Popis: Modernizace čistírny odpadních vod. Regia Autonoma Apa –
Canal Arad (RAAC Arad) and Compania APA Brasov (CABv) intend using part of the
proceeds of a loan facility set up by the European Bank for Reconstruction and
Development [the Bank] for a project concerning the rehabilitation of the
wastewater treatment plant in the city of Arad and treatment of drinking water
and wastewater for the city of Brasov and neighbouring localities. The project
will be co-funded by the European Union (EU) through the ISPA facility. The
element of the project financed by the Bank will comprise the following works:
The rehabilitation of the wastewater treatment plant in Arad Rehabilitation and
development of a trunk sewer collector for collection of wastewater from the
east and northeast areas of Brasov city and its transport by gravity to the
Brasov Wastewater Treatment Plant. Efficient distribution of the additional
treated flow of drinking water in Tarlung Water Treatment Plant, Brasov.
Tendering for the above contracts is expected to start late in the second
quarter of 2002. Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the
Bank will be subject to the Banks Procurement Policies and Rules and will be
open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Banks loan will not be used
for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of
goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United
Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United
Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchasers country.
