Ukraine has received a loan in the amount of US$ 24.25 million equivalent from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Lviv Water and Wastewater Project, and it intends to apply part of the loan proceeds to payments under the contract for the establishment of pressure zones and network piping (No. LP-WS-01C). Lviv City Communal Enterprise “Lvivvodokanal” (LCCE “Lvivvodokanal”) intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for establishment of pressure zones in the water supply network and rehabilitation of main pumping stations and network piping. It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in August 2002. Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996, September 1997 and January 1999), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification documents at LCCE “Lvivvodokanal”, Project Implementation Unit (PIU) from 0900 to 1600 hours. A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of HRV 180 or US$ 30 when collected directly from the PIU office. In case the documents are to be sent by courier, a bidder should pay HRV 360 or US$ 60. The method of payment will be cash if procured directly from PIU office in Lviv or by the bank transfer to the account of LCCE “Lvivvodokanal” if the documents will not be collected from the PIU office. The documents not collected from PIU office will be sent by courier services.
