published in UN Development Business No. 423 of 30 September 1995. The
Municipality of Budapest has received a loan in the amount of Eur 27,600,000
equivalent from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD)
toward the cost of the Municipal Wastewater Project, and it intends to apply the
loan proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting
services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly
financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB). The project will include the
following on-going components: North-Buda wastewater and rainwater pumping and
collection system Wastewater monitoring system Technical assistance Procurement
of contracts financed by the loan will be conducted through the procedures
specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA
Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996 and September 1997 and
January 1999), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as
defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance
with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by
World Bank Borrowers, January 1997 (revised September 1997 and January 1999).
Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s
international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for large-value
consultants’ contracts will be announced, as they become available, in the
Budapest Business Journal and Hungarian local daily newspaper Nepszabadsag.
Bidding of suppliers and contractors will be required for the following
contracts: North-Buda wastewater and rainwater pumping and collection system:
--Part A: Construction of Pók Street Siphon consisting of nine sections of
gravity sewage pipelines (DNs 200-1400, lengths 44-1,804 m) --Part C:
Construction of Csillaghegy main sewer consisting of five sections of pressured
pipelines (DNs 160-1000, lengths 80-1,336 m, out of which 998 m under the Danube
river bed) Wastewater monitoring system - actual in the 2nd half of 2002:
Installation of monitoring system for measuring and sampling of flows in the
central wastewater collection network Technical Assistance: --Study of
monitoring of industrial wastewater --Study of industrial wastewater tariffs
--Feasibility study of sludge de-watering and disposal Interested eligible

bid under ICB procedures, or those requiring additional information, should
