General Procurement Notice Issue date 7 April 2003 This notice updates the
General Procurement Notice for this project, which was published on the EBRDs
Web site on 20 January 2000. Municipal Enterprise Kaliningrad Vodokanal has
received a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in
support of a program of investments to rehabilitate the water and wastewater
system in the City of Kaliningrad. The proposed project, which has a total
estimated cost of USD 18 million, will require the procurement of the following
goods and works: completion of a new water treatment plant; rehabilitation of an
existing water treatment plant; groundwater well field development, upgrading
and monitoring; completion of construction of a clean water reservoir; a new
disinfection plant; flow and pressure meters; upgrading of pumping station; and
replacement of pumps. Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin
during the second half of 2003 and completed in 2004. Contracts to be financed
with the proceeds of the loan from the European Bank will be subject to the
Banks Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country.
The proceeds of the Banks loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment
to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is
prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under
Chapter VII or the Charter or the United Nations or under a law of official
regulation of the Purchasers country. Interested suppliers and contractors

This notice updates the General Procurement Notice for this project, which was published on the EBRDs Web site on 20 January 2000.
Municipal Enterprise Kaliningrad Vodokanal has received a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in support of a program of investments to rehabilitate the water and wastewater system in the City of Kaliningrad. completion of construction of a clean water reservoir;
a new disinfection plant;

Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin during the second half of 2003 and completed in 2004.
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of the loan from the European Bank will be subject to the Banks Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country.
