Description of the contract: The purpose of the works is to rehabilitate and extend the sewerage network in Timisoara City, Romania. The main works, for which a detailed design has been prepared, include the following:
1. new sewers, which will be connected to the existing main collectors, approximately 2,2 km of main sewers (up to 2 000 mm non-circular) and 7,8 km secondary sewers (between 300 mm and 1 000 mm diameter);
2. replacement of approximately 2,4 km sewers between 300 mm and 1 000 mm diameter in different areas together with associated property connections, manholes and chambers;
3. supply of sewer cleaning and maintenance equipment.
Timisoara is located some 600 km west of Bucharest. Timisoara is the largest economic and industrial centre in the west of Romania. The total population of the area is 430 000.
Other information: As this contract is being funded through EBRD as co-financiers of the Timisoara financing memorandum, it will follow EBRD procedures through tendering and contracting. All future notices will be published on the EBRD web site.
