The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), for the benefit of the Palestinian Authority, has applied for a supplement to the existing grant in the amount of US$ 5 million equivalent from the Trust Fund for Gaza and West Bank (Trust Fund) toward the cost of the construction of the North Gaza Emergency Sewage Treatment Plant and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services.
The services include construction management and supervision for the construction of new wastewater treatment plant of capacity 3,600 mł/hr, including preliminary, primary, and biological treatment for suspended solids, organic and nitrogen removal and sludge treatment. The plant includes sludge digestion and internal energy production from biogas, odor treatment, and effluent pumping. The implementation period is expected to be 22 calendar months from starting date of construction.
Eligibility
Consulting firms must have previous experience in providing construction management and supervision consulting services for wastewater treatment plants of a capacity of 3,600 mł/hour projects
The Palestinian Water Authority (PWA), an agency of the Palestinian Authority, now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consulting firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consulting firms may associate to enhance their qualifications.
A consulting firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004.
Interested consulting firms may obtain further information at the address below during office hours 0900 to 1400 hours (local time).
Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by 1200 hours (local time) on 10 July 2005.
