This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice that appeared in UN Development Business No. 648 of 16 February 2005.

The Republic of Croatia has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Coastal Cities Water Pollution Control Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for supply of pipes, manholes and fittings for construction of sewer mains and network, in the settlements of Liburnia Riviera.

This contract will be jointly financed by World Bank, Croatian State Budget, Hrvatske vode and local authorities funds. Bidding will be governed by the World Bank’s eligibility rules and procedure.

Hrvatske vode Jadranski projekt d.o.o. now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for: Sewerage System of Liburnia Riviera:


Procurement of pipes, manholes and fittings (HV/ICB/OPT/G4) (ICB)

Supplying and delivery of material and equipment for sewage system (EMV HV 35/05; EMV HVJP 09/05)

Bidders are invited to give their bids for supply pipes, manholes and fittings for construction of sewer mains and network, in the settlements of Liburnia Riviera. Delivery period for pipes is 45-360 days.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank`s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996, September 1997 and January 1999) and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Hrvatske vode Jadranski projekt d.o.o. and inspect the bidding documents at the first and second address below, from 0900 to 1500 hours (local time).

The complete set of the bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the third address below (Room 57) and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee as follows:

The method of payment will be cashier`s check, direct deposit to above account.

On the payment certificate purpose of payment should clearly state "Nonrefundable Deposit for Bidding Document on Contract: “Sewerage System of Liburnia Riviera, Procurement of Pipes, Manholes and Fittings, HV/ICB/OPT/G4 - Supplying and delivery of material and equipment for sewage system, EMV HV 35/05, EMV HVJP 09/05”

The document will be sent by courier service or by ordinary mail at the address given in the written request, but no liability can be accepted for loss or late delivery.

Bidder shall bear all costs associated with delivery of bidding documents, both by ordinary mail or by courier service. If the bidders choose delivery by courier service, preferable courier service and bidders referring account no, should be noted in the written application.

All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of HRK 200,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency, and be delivered to the third address below (room 244) at or before 1200 hours (local time) on 30 August 2005. They will be opened at 1205 hours (local time), in the presence of bidders who choose to attend, at the address of delivery. Late bids will be rejected.
