The Islamic Republic of Iran has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the costs of the Ahwaz and Shiraz Water and Sanitation Project, and intends to apply a portion of this loan for eligible payments for international consulting services.

The Ahwaz Water and Wastewater Company(AWWC)now invites expressions of interest (EOI), from qualified and experienced international consulting firms to provide the required consulting services for a Design - Build - Operate contract for a new sewage treatment plant.

The proposed wastewater treatment plant is initially planned for a capacity of 112,000 Mł/day, (two modules, each with an average capacity of 56,000 Mł/day) with the effluent to be used for irrigation purposes and discharging to Maleh River during the wet season. The consulting firms will be responsible for the following specific assignments:


To prepare and conduct the prequalification process.

To prepare tender documentation on the basis of Design - Build - Operate model.

To conduct the DBO bidding process, and prepare contract documents.

To review contractor design (treatment process, hydraulics layout, etc).

To supervise the execution and the operation of works for one year.

Interested firms may associate themselves with other firms to enhance their capacity in the completion of consulting assignment.
