This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 517 of 31 August 1999. The Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Water and Wastewater Administration General Directorate (ASAT) has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Antalya Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and intends to apply part of the loan proceeds to payments under the Contract No. 42, for procurement of water meters. ASAT now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of 100,000 units of ISO 4064-1 and/or TS 824 “Class B” of cold, extra dry, house type water meters with nominal capacity Qn = 1.5 mł/h and with a nominal diameter of 20 mm. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 1995 (revised January and August 1996, September 1997 and January 1999), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from ASAT General Directorate, and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 0900 to 1700 hours. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of written application to the address, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US$ 100 (VAT included) or its equivalent in Turkish lira by converting with selling rates of Central Bank of Turkey. The fee should be paid at Vakifbank Sarampol Branch, Antalya, Turkey, into the account of ASAT: (i) account No. 2020400 for Turkish lira; or (ii) account No. 4017246 for US dollars. The document will be sent by airmail for overseas and courier for local delivery if requested by the bidder. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security amount of not less than 3 per cent of the total bid amount or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency, and must be delivered to the address below on or before 1400 hours on 13 December 2002. Bids will be opened at 1430 hours on the same day, in the presence of the bidders who choose to attend, at the address below. Late bids will be rejected. Contact: ASAT.
