As The World Bank intends to finance the assignment / services described below under a trust fund from the Policy and Human Resource Development (PHRD) Trust Fund.
The services involve carrying out an Environmental and Social Assessment (ESA), including an Environment Impact Assessment (EIA), a Social Assessment and an Environment Management Plan (EMP), for proposed investments Projects in Alexandria Port under the Port Sector Development Project.
The ESA shall cover the following investments projects in Alexandria Port:
Construction of the “branch” of the western breakwater in the port of El Dekheila
Construction and use of a new terminal facility in the Port of Alexandria (the decommissioning of the existing timber, coal and scrap quays currently located in the coal basin should also be included in the EIA)
The ESA for the proposed investments is expected to be completed by 31 March 2006.
Alexandria Port Authority now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest and submit their offers to provide the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. Consultants will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank`s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers January 1997 (revised September 1997, January 1999 and May 2002).

Expressions of interest and offers must be delivered to the address below by 30 September 2005.
