Stát Tocantins v Brazílii obdržel od Mezinárodní banky pro rekonstrukci a rozvoj (IBRD) v rámci Světové banky (WB) půjčku na financování projektu trvale udržitelného rozvoje regionu a část těchto prostředků hodlá použít na služby konzultantů za účelem asistence Úřadu vodních zdrojů a životního prostředí při přípravě hydrogeologických studií jihovýchodního regionu ve státě Tocantins. Rozsah poskytnutých služeb bude následující: (i) zmapování současného stavu; (ii) příprava geologické mapy regionu v měřítku 1:250.000; (iii) provedení průzkumuvodních studní; (iv) vytyčení statografických jednotek; (v) stanovení dostupnosti a poptávky po spodní vodě a vztah mezi nadzemními a sopdními zdroji; (vi) hydrochemické charakteristiky spodních vod; (vii) příprava hydrogeologických map jihovýchodního regionu ve státě Tovantins. Vhodní zájemci o poskytnutí konzultantských služeb, kteří prokáží svou kvalifikaci, kapacity a příslušné reference, mohou vyjádřit svůj zájem písemně na níže uvedenou adresu, a to do 31. ledna 2008. The State of Tocantins received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for the implementation of the Regional Sustainable Development Project - PDRS, intending to apply part of the resources of such loan in payments admissible for the Selection of Consultants to assist the Secretariat for Water Resources and Environment - SRHMA in the preparation of the hydrogeology studies of the Southeast Region of the State of Tocantins, as permitted by § 5 of art. 42 of Law no. 8,666, of 21/Jun/93 and its subsequent amendments and related legislation.

The scope of the services includes: (i) the preparation of a diagnosis of the existing knowledge about the theme; (ii) the preparation of a geologic map of the region of the study, in a scale of 1:250.000; (iii) the carrying out of a survey (inventory) of water wells, identifying the constructive methods and characteristics, extraction discharge, aquifer captured, static and dynamic levels, chemical quality and uses of the water; (iv) the outline of the spatial distribution of the several stratigraphic units regarding their relative hydrogeological importance in the State of Tocantins, identifying the potentiality of the aquifers; (v) the determination of the availabilities and demands of underground waters (present situation of the underground water exploitation per aquiver) and the relationships existing between superficial and underground waters; (vi) the hydrochemical characterization of the underground waters; (vii) an estimate of the basic discharges (basal flows) through an hydrological balance, and (viii) the preparation of the hydrogeological mapping of the Southeast Region of the State of Tocantins.

The Superintendence of Strategic Support of SEINF invites companies/institutions to submit an expression of interest aiming to provide said consulting services. Interested companies/institutions are to show they are qualified to perform the services, whereby they are to submit information substantiating their qualifications (print-outs, description of similar services, experience under similar circumstances, team with the required qualifications, etc.). The constitution of associations is admitted for purposes of strengthening the required qualifications.

One company/institution will be selected according to the procedures established by the World Bank Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, as published in January 1997 (revised in September 1997 and January 1999). Selection Based on Quality and Cost (SBQC).
