Abstract: ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF THE VINCA LANDFILL IN BELGRADE
Sector: Consultants Loan/Credit Number: Budget Allocation No. 80639 Contract/Bid
Number: Expressions of Interest Deadline: 7 January 2003 The International
Finance Corporation (IFC) intends to finance the assignment described below
under the Frontier Privatization Fund. The assignment is for performance of an
environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the Vinca Landfill in Belgrade.
Currently, the IFC is assisting the City of Belgrade in the implementation of a
program for the restructuring and improvement of municipal solid waste services.
It is the intention of the City of Belgrade to introduce public-private
partnership for provision of such services. It is currently envisaged that waste
disposal services at the landfill would be provided through a concession-type
contract with a private contractor. The EIA to be performed under this
assignment will form an integral part of the contract and serve to establish a
base line of the existing environmental situation at the landfill and an
unambiguous distribution of environmental liabilities resulting from previous
and future waste disposal activities. The IFC now invites eligible consultants
to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants
must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the
services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar
projects, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may
associate to enhance their qualifications. Consultants will be selected in
accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection
and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, January 1997 (revised
September 1997, January 1999 and May 2002) Interested consultants may obtain
further information at the telephone numbers below from 0900 to 1730 hours,
Monday through Friday. Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address
below by c.o.b. on Tuesday 7, January 2003. Contact: IFC. The International
