specified The Federal Republic of Nigeria has applied for a credit from the
International Development Association in the amount of US$ 114 million
equivalent toward the cost of the Privatization Support Project, and it intends
to apply the proceeds of this credit to payments for consulting services, goods
and related services to be procured under this project. Part of the proceed of
the loan is being applied to fund the Lagos State Corporation Restructuring and
Privates Sector Participation components. The project provides funding for (i)
implementation of Lagos State Water Corporation (LSWC) private sector
participation transaction and commercial improvements to improve transaction
success; and (ii) the implementation of an Emergency Action Plan to support LSWC
during the privatization transaction. Procurement of contracts financed by the
credit is being conducted through the procedures specified in the World Bank’s
Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (January 1995 revised
January and August 1996, September 1997 and January 1999), and is open to all
bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. Consulting
services are being selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines:
Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, January 1997
(revised September 1997 and January 1999). Specific procurement notices for
contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s International Competitive Bidding
(ICB) procedures and for large value consultants’ contracts will be announced,
as they become available, in UN Development Business and in national newspapers.

who wish to receive a copy of the advertisement requesting expressions of
