V Blansku - Češkovicích probíhá mezinárodní geologický seminář
Czech & Slovak Geological Societies with support from: Faculty of Science,
Masaryk University, Brno; Czech Geological Survey, Prague and Brno; Faculty of
Science, Charles University, Prague; Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava;
Geological Survey of Slovak Republic, Bratislava Blansko-Češkovice, Czech
Republic 29 May - 1 June 2003 Scope of the Conference Numerous new data and
stimulating scientific ideas on the character and evolution of the Central
European Variscides have appeared since the successful conferences, which were
focused largely on the Bohemian Massif (1st Conference on the Bohemian Massif,
Prague 1988, or Joint Meeting of the Deutsche Geologische Vereinigung and Czech
Geological Society, Prague 1994). With regards to these new findings, we would
like to invite the scientists dealing with the Variscan crystalline rocks to
share the new ideas with us at a meeting in 2003. We welcome also contributions
on older elements incorporated into the Variscan orogen. This conference will be
organized jointly by the Czech and Slovak Geological Societies as both the
Bohemian Massif and the Western Carpathians contain comparable Variscan
elements. However, the understanding of Variscan in general is not restricted by
the state boundaries and we therefore expect researchers from the whole of
Europe to attend. We are all looking forward to meeting you in the Czech
Republic! The Organizing Committee Zdroj:www.cgu.cz
