Contract/Bid Number: Removal of redundant & obsolete equipment, & install new cabling, switchgear, panels, overhead housing and street lighting supplies, internal small power and lighting, all tested and commissioned into service and provision of spare parts for three years.

This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 512 of 15 June 1999 and updated in No. 570 of 16 November 2001.
The Government of Mozambique has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of the refurbishment of LV Electrical Systems at Beira Water Treatment Plant, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under Contract Identification No. FIPAG/W?010/02.
The Fundo de Investimento e Patrimonio do Abastecimento de Água (FIPAG), the Government of Mozambique’s implementation agency, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the refurbishment of LV Electrical Systems at the Beira Water Treatment Plant and the provision of spare parts for three years.
Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. A valid license is required to carry out 380 V work in Mozambique for both individuals and companies.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from FIPAG and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below.
A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of US$ 200 or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency, for each set. The method of payment will be cash or direct deposit (Account No. 213 22 153, Banco Internacional de Moçambique). Bidders will be responsible for collection of the documents.
Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 1100 hours on 15 January 2003. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of US$ 7,500 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 1130 hours on 15 January 2003.
