Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei Darussalam's construction of a modern engineered landfill at Sungai Paku hopes to be the archetype for the rest of Asia to adopt similar waste-to-energy technology pending a 10-month feasibility study by a Spanish engineering consultancy firm.
According to the Embassy of Spain's Economic and Commercial Counsellor, the Sultanate is only one of two countries in Asia to receive a financial grant from the Spanish Government this year to undertake projects aimed at furthering the respective country's economic development.
The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) signed an agreement i september with IDOM Ingenieria Y Consultoria SA, an professional engineering consultancy firm, to commence a feasibility study for the development of an integrated solid waste management system in Brunei.
