MI-26TC IN FIRE-FIGHTING AND IN SLING WORK THE BIGGEST HELICOPTER IN THE WORLD
The fire-fighting helicopter with a water-discharging device on the external load sling is intended for extinguishing and localization of fire in forest-steppe, forest and mountainous regions; extinguishing and localization of industrial and domestic fires. Water intake is carried out with the water-discharging device in hovering from any water reservoirs, including shallow ones. Control of intake and water discharge in implemented remotely from the operator's control panel. The highly sophisticated satellite navigation system and the thermal vision units enable the MI-26 to perform high precision drops in any weather conditions, day or night.
MI-26 fire-fighting helicopter includes:
- Water-discharging device VSU-15;
- External load sling providing transportation of the VSU-15 and control of intake and discharge of water;
- Satellite navigation system;
