PopisA German research institute has developed a lightning-safe power supply
system for continuous real-time monitoring of wind turbine rotor blades.
Currently applied copper cables or batteries used for powering the remote sensor
units and for exchanging data with them are replaced by optical fibres. The new
system reduces maintenance and downtime costs of wind engines. The institute
looks for a commercial agreement with technical assistance, a technical or
research co-operation.
