Zero waste lifestyle guru Bea Johnson
The world renowned zero waste lifestyle guru Bea Johnson (pictured third from left) paid a visit to the Let's Do It! HQ in Tallinn, giving an inspiring and hilarious talk about her zero waste journey.
Over 80 people attended her talk at Tallinn University, in which Bea recounted entertaining tales of her attempts to cut waste from her family home.
Bea, a US resident originally from France, has gained worldwide notoriety for her zero waste blog, and her success in reducing the annual waste of a family of four down to just a single jar full.
Her vocation is to shatter misconceptions associated with the Zero Waste lifestyle, to prove that waste-free living can not only be 'stylish', but also lead to significant health benefits, as well as time and money savings.
Anneli Ohvril, co-leader of the Let's Do It! core team, said of the event: "We were honoured to have the inspirational and enigmatic Bea Johnson visit us in Tallinn, and deliver such an eye-opening talk about her personal journey to a zero waste lifestyle.
"Her huge achievements have been an inspiration to our movement, and to many other waste warriors worldwide. We are so delighted to have her support for World Cleanup Day, and for our shared vision of a clean and healthy planet."
Following the talk, Let's Do It! teamed up with Peeter Pihel, a famous Estonian chef, to deliver a high quality zero waste dinner. Peeter collected food leftovers from various local restaurants and prepared a delicious five course meal for 50 guests - proving once again that "one man's trash is another man's treasure."
These events were organised in collaboration with the Estonian Roundtable for Development Cooperation, as part of Bea's European speaking tour.
