Cop26 has put the world on track to avoid catastrophic global heating, Boris Johnson has said, as he hailed the agreement thrashed out by delegates on Saturday evening. Acknowledging disappointment at the limitations of the deal, including a last-minute watering down of its key demand that nations phase out coal, Johnson insisted it represented essential progress.
