Surrey: In spring the frogs, toads and newts are on the move, and we saved as many as we could from the carsOne cold, wet night, my mum asked me if I wanted to come out with her to help the frogs, toads and newts cross the road. In early spring they are going to ponds to lay spawn, or in a newt's case, to lay eggs. I did want to, so I went upstairs and changed into suitable clothes. I felt excited as I walked down the front garden with my torch and my dad, mum and sister.I had gone out with them for the same reason when I was about four years old. I was again full of excitement as I walked down the alleyway leading to the pond. Unfortunately I realised that it was hard to save them all, because lots were crossing the road at the same time, and we couldn't be everywhere at once to save them from the cars.
